My Everyday Makeup Look

May 22, 2020

Today I will be sharing with y’all my everyday makeup routine. I use the term “everyday” loosely because if I’m being honest, somedays I just don’t have time for makeup. But, I have realized that if I get “ready” in the morning before my day even begins, it sets my day off on the right foot and I am more productive.

So, let’s start from the beginning…

Pre-Foundation

I don’t usually use a primer before I apply foundation to keep it quick; however, I will use a few swipes of my Tula Glow & Get It Eye Balm. Just a couple of swipes under each of my eyes really brightens up my under eye area in an instant. And the cooling effect is a plus!

Foundation

One of the best buildable foundations that I have across is the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream in the color medium. This is my go-to for the spring and summer because I like to keep it simple and apply just one light layer with a brush. One layer is plenty of coverage to hide any redness, discoloration, and imperfections.

Concealer

My holy grail concealer for the last several years has been the Tarte Shape Tape concealer in the color fair neutral. It makes all of my dark circles disappear, doesn’t settle into lines, and stays put all day. I apply it under my eyes and on all of the high points of my face as a highlight.

Powder

I will preface this by saying this is not the most affordable powder on the market, but trust me when I say it is worth every penny. The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Setting Powder (shade 2 medium) makes my skin look airbrushed and flawless with just a minimal amount. I use a beauty blender to press it on my under eye area, and a big fluffy brush to sweep it across the remainder of my face.

Bronzer

The Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer has been in my makeup bag for a very long time. Even if I purchase a new bronzer that I like and works well for my skin, I always gravitate back to the Hoola one. It’s that good. I apply it with a brush under my cheekbones, the outer sides of my forehead, my hairline, and my neck.

Blush

The NARS blush in the shade Bumpy Ride is great for the warm months. It is a bright pink with some shimmer that gives your face just the right amount of sheen. I also like the shade Orgasm which is more of a peachy pink, but I prefer a brighter shade for the spring and summer.

Eyes & Eyebrows

This section is very minimal for me because the only thing that I touch are my eyebrows. I’ve been getting eyelash extensions for about a year now and I. Am. In. Love. They are definitely an investment, but to me they are worth it (I can do a separate post on eyelash extensions if you are interested). The extensions define my eyes and allow them to “pop,” so no mascara needed. However, I do like to apply the Benefit Gimme Brow in shade 1 to my eyebrows. I have extremely light eyebrows so I will usually get them tinted every 6 weeks or so, and then brush this gel through my eyebrows for a natural look.

Lips

Last but not least, are lips. For just an everyday look, I like to go super simple. Since this past winter, I have been using the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It is technically a leave-on product that you apply overnight, but I like to apply it throughout the day. It gives my lips some shine while keeping them hydrated and plump.

And that’s it! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions. And I always welcome any suggestions you have for future blog posts!
