Stripes will always give you that classic, effortless look. And there is nothing better than navy blue and white stripes. That color combination embodies a nautical feel, which reminds me so much of Charleston and its coastal beauty.
I love to buy pieces that can transition from the daytime into the evening, and striped pieces fall right into that versatile category.
This striped split-neck top is perfect to wear year-round, so it doesn’t get more versatile than that! I have it paired here with the relaxed mid-rise shorts in the color bright white, which are the perfect everyday short for the spring and summer.
The top is very lightweight and breathable, so you can wear it by itself in the warmer months, or add a long cardigan or blazer over it when it gets chilly. In the fall and winter, I plan on pairing it with some distressed ankle jeans and simple flats.
I wanted this look to be more playful and fun, so I popped on this boater hat, which I will be wearing ALL summer long. It matches with everything, is the perfect shape, and is flexible enough to pack away in a suitcase.
I have on a simple, dainty gold necklace that I talked about in my blog post last week (read more about that here), but a statement necklace would look great with this split-neck style top.
